TITLE OF FILM: 'A PERFECT FORGIVENESS'
NARRATIVE STRUCTURE: It has a clear beginning as straight away the audience can tell what is going on and where it is set. It is also a linear narrative as we thought that using a non-linear narrative would be too complicatd for the audience to understand what the film is about. We used equalibrium at the start of the film to show dramic comparision in the middle and end of our production when it changes to disequalibrium.
THRILLER CODES & CONVENTIONS: We used the Tranformed City theory because we set the film in a traditional house and is transformed into a sucluded and unsafe place. We used Protraction and Concealment as we hid the strange man's his face and displayed only his torso. Question and Answer model was included into our film as we used a range of red herrings to confuse the audience.
CAMERA WORK: Close ups used on young girls face to show shocked and scared reactions to the audience so that they realise something is wrong. Mid-shots used so that the audience can see what is going on in the shot. Over-the-shoulder-shot used when man is looking through the window to make the audience feel uneasy, or as though they are there and should not be. Panning and zooming was also used so that the audience could see what was going on in the shot.
MISE-EN-SCENE: Girl is washing dishes so it is realised that it is set in a house. She starts to wash a knife, the meaning of this is to make the audience feel uneasy and think that something bad is going to happen. The phone is rang three times and it is unclear who is on the other end of the phone, this also makes the audience feel uneasy and makes them question. The audience can tell that the character is a young teenager so our target audience (15+) may put themseleves in the characters position and become fearful. When there is an outside shot, a dark silhouette is peering into the window and looking at the girl, this makes the audience question 'who is this dark figure?' 'what do they want?'
The girl is routing through drawers in the kitchen which is filled with cultlery and knives. This is meant to make the audience wonder what she is going to do and what is she looking for. Girl runs and rushes around in her house which gives the audience a sense of urgency.
SOUND: The diegetic music had sounds of washing dishes, phone ringing, dialogue from the girl, locking the door, and cultlery clanging together. These noises were used to alarm the audience. The non-diegetic music was eerie and had high notes that made the audience alert.
EDITING: Match on action as we follow the girl all the way through and believe her to be the protagonist girl. Lots of long takes and uses a shot-reverse-shot as it goes from inside of the house with the girl to outside of the house with the stranger.
GRAPHICS: The titles were white, bold and lowercase and we used effects such as 'ghosting', 'fade to white' and 'colour correction' to entertain the audience and keep them interested.
